Installing Fabric

  • Install [Fabric ] for your version of Minecraft, which must match the server. Use the universal installer.
  • Once it's installed load your Minecraft launcher and select fabric-loader-1.. from the available versions
  • Launch this version once to check it's functioning correctly. Assuming it it, move on. If it isn't, you'll have to debug that issue yourself.
  • Close Minecraft.

Great, now Fabric is working. We can move on to installing the mods.

Installing the MiniMap

  • Get the Fabric API jar [Curse Project | direct link ]
  • Get the VoxelMap jar [Curse Project | direct link ]
  • Navigate to the %appdata%/.minecraft/mods folder. On Windows you can type this in the Run dialog to find it.
  • Place both the .jar files in the mods folder.
  • Open your Minecraft launcher, ensure "Fabric" is still selected in the Profile dropdown and launch the game.

That's it! You should now have a working minimap installed.

Note: if you have previously installed VoxelMap you'll need to navigate to the %appdata%/.minecraft/mods folder and remove all but the latest version, and possibly the data folder it has.

Installing OptiFine

  • Get OptiFabric [Curse Project | direct link ]
  • Get OptiFine for Minecraft version 1.16.4 (preview) [Project site | direct link ].
  • Navigate to the %appdata%/.minecraft/mods folder.
  • Place both the .jar files into the mods folder
  • Open your Minecraft launcher
  • Make sure "Fabric" is still selected in the Profile dropdown and launch the game.

Note: if you have previously installed OptiFine you'll need to navigate to the %appdata%/.minecraft/mods folder and remove all but the latest version.
