Installing Forge
- Install Forge for your version of Minecraft, which must match the server.
- The server is currently running version 1.19.2 of Minecraft [Forge v1.19.2]
- Load your Minecraft launcher and select "forge 1.19.2..."
- Launch this version once to check it's functioning correctly. Assuming it it, move on. If it isn't, you'll have to debug that issue yourself.
- Close Minecraft.
Great, now Forge is working. We can move on to installing the mods.
Installing the MiniMap
- Get Zaero's MiniMap [site | direct jar download ].
- Open your
.minecraftfolder, on Windows you can type %appdata% in the Run dialog to find it. - Open the
modsfolder. - Place the
Xaeros_Minimap_*_Forge_*.jarfile in the mods folder. - Open your Minecraft launcher
- Make sure "forge" is still selected in the Profile dropdown and launch the game.
That's it! You should now have a working minimap installed.
Installing OptiFine
- Get OptiFinefor Minecraft version 1.19.2 [OptiFine.net | direct 1.19.2 jar download ].
- Run the
OptiFine_*_HD_U_*.jarjar file. - Choose "Extract".
- Navigate to the %appdata%/.minecraft/mods folder.
- Should get the message "OptiFine is successfully extracted". If you get an error, you skipped something above/have the wrong version of Minecraft installed.
- Open your Minecraft launcher
- Make sure "forge" is still selected in the Profile dropdown and launch the game.
Note: if you have previously installed OptiFine you'll need to navigate to the %appdata%/.minecraft/mods folder and remove all but the latest version.
